Google seems to be altering the ways in which it displays links leading to what people search for. They call it the “Alternative View Search,” because it gives the searcher several different styles to choose from when displaying the links that Google has retrieved. In one possible style they offer, the display is shown with a time line at the top of the page. In this way, the searcher can limit which links fall onto the display that shows the most relevant websites. This doesn’t seem like a bad idea, considering that the Google setup hasn’t changed since it was first introduced in 1998.
